Djibouti. Poor Value.

Unfortunately, Djibouti, although a great place to relax, offers very poor value for money. It is amongst the most expensive state in Africa, where a small bottle of beer costs £3.50 (€5)!

I did not have much time (or money in my budget) to explore more than just Djibouti City. My plan was to travel to Djibouti for the New Year’s Eve, primarily. I loved the city’s cafes and the arched patios and pavements.

I liked the mix of the French and the Moorish architecture and the country’s will to develop rapidly through the appropriate investment and tourism.
