Haiti. Rising.

It was great to see the positive energy in Haiti. Things are heading in a good direction. Buildings are being rebuilt and plans are being made to rebuild more. The capital, Port-au-Prince is in fact in rumbles, and most of the activity and business have since moved to Petionville, an interesting place to visit in its own right, at least for a party and shopping, but it is not deserted. There are plenty of activities there, and locals do hang out in the parks, boys play football. artists sell arts, and ... small groups of tourists wander about. There is a new tourism minister in the office and she promises to convert Haiti in the next Dominican Republic, full of great places to holiday, linger on the beaches, etc. And increasingly more airlines are now making the trip directly to Port-au-Prince International Airport.
