Jersey. Quietly busy.
Not part of the United Kingdom, but a crown dependency, Jersey is a rich country, which established itself as a tax heaven. Yet, life moves very slowly there. At least that is the impression. I visited on a weekend, so I guess I did not witness any of the weekday rush. And still something tells me that all that busy-ness goes on in the background, somewhere behind the scenes of the many offshore finance businesses.
There were two places on Jersey that I could call my favourite:
