Mauritius. Not sugar-sweet.

Mauritius is a relatively poor African country. The population works very hard from dawn to dusk on sugar plantations to make ends meet. There are not any terribly spectacular beaches anywhere on the island or isles nearby. Rather average. The interior boasts a few jagged mountains, green forests, deep valleys and nice waterfalls. There is also an interesting geological formation full of colour.

The quality of the country is its plethora of quality resorts and spas, of rather good value for money, and friendly population.

The capital, Port Louis, was a bit average, had few interesting buildings and an attractive waterfront.
