Reunion. Expensive.

Reunion has nothing of good value for money, except perhaps the cetacean watching, and whales when in season. Although the local regulations prohibit approaching the creatures at a close distance. Distance that would be good for picture taking.

The island appears uninteresting from the outside. There are not any spectacular beaches or coastal towns. Its main quality is its interior, full of rugged and jagged mountains, volcanoes, old craters, deep valleys, slender waterfalls, forests - all seemingly completely unaccessible! The best way to see all this is from a helicopter. But if one has time, then a few days trekking would also do nice.

The capital, Saint-Denis, has a few examples of great colonial and creole buildings, but these are concentrated on two or three streets and the rest of the city is not terribly attractive.
