Zimbabwe. Sad.

Once, Zimbabwe was one of Africa’s best places to backpack through, offering incredible landscape and great safaris, particularly for elephants and lions. Today (2007), this is a disaster zone. It is unsafe, paralysed economically and halted logistically due to fuel shortage. It is a tragedy for wildlife that dies of thirst and poaching. At least people remain fairly friendly, yet desperately seeking alternative means to provide for their families...
